Noritsu was established in 1951 by Kanichi Nishimoto, who invented the first automatic print washer, revolutionizing the way photos were developed. Throughout the years, Noritsu has continued to introduce technological breakthroughs, such as:

• The first automatic monochrome film processor
• The first minilab for the One-Hour revolution
• The first completely digital minilab
• The first dry minilab
• The first commercial inkjet photo printer
• The first inkjet duplex photo printer

With a history of innovation, the company realized it was essential to have a worldwide service and support organization. The NTS division was started in the United States in 1978, servicing traditional break/fix requirements as well as installations and rollouts of Noritsu equipment.

Additional milestones:

• NTS assumed service responsibility for Kodak's minilab equipment - 1990
• NTS assumed service responsibility for Konica's minilab equipment - 2006
• NTS became fully trained to service Fuji minilab equipment - 2009

Noritsu owns one of two electromagnetic compatibility facilities in Japan. This sophisticated testing facility aids Noritsu in the development of new products. Many other electronics manufacturers have recognized the value of the Noritsu facility, and test their products at the E.C. site for acceptable levels of electromagnetic interference.

The Noritsu Technical Services Division has not only been keeping Noritsu products running to factory specifications, but it has also been serving as the manufacturer's eyes and ears in the field. This manufacturing orientation contributes to the constant improvement of Noritsu products, which helps the company to introduce innovative new products that are based on real world experiences.
